It was delightful to welcome over 90 of our senior women members to the annual Senior Women’s Luncheon last Friday, the 1st March. They were able to enjoy a delicious lunch together, while catching up with friends.

Women’s President, Libby Stuckey, announced that in planning this event, the membership records were searched. This search established that there are three ladies with many years of Club membership. These ladies are Barbara Gadsen, a member for 74 years, Lizzie Serpell, 73 years and Joan Baxter, 72 years. Thank you to these ladies for their many years as members of Peninsula Kingswood.

The search also revealed that there were some significant birthdays being reached this year.  Joan Gabb turns 100 years old in November, and was present on the day.

There are four ladies who turned 90 recently and three others who will celebrate that milestone in the coming months of 2019.

Those who were present at our lunch were Barbara Gadsen, Hazel Farmer, Sylvia Andrews,  Pat Hollings and Lizzie Serpell.  Elizabeth Edgar and Dawn Argent, who were not present,  also turn 90 this year.

With so many significant birthdays, the opportunity to celebrate was too good to miss!

A fabulous cake was made, candles were lit, the ladies gathered around to blow them out and the Birthday song was sung!   Hazel Farmer thanked the Club for acknowledging the birthdays.

The gathering was also pleased to hear an update of Club news from Women’s Captain, Jenny Picking, together with information about all the new facilities.

The lunch closed with thanks to the Hospitality Team for making this a special occasion for us all.
