2025-26 Grants<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The Peninsula Kingswood Community Foundation is pleased with the response by members to provide their support for our fundraising through donations and by attending our events. We are very pleased to announce the following programs and projects chosen to receive grants in the 2025-26 year. The total sum to be distributed this round is $81,000.<\/p>\n\n\n

Community Support Frankston – PKCF Grant: $20,000<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Grant for: Program assisting women and children
<\/strong>Women with young children experiencing domestic\/ family violence, entering homelessness, is on the increase. Problems associated with insufficient emergency\/ appropriate housing for women and families trying to escape violence and avoid homelessness has never been worse that it is right now. These funds will assist us in providing emergency relief to families.<\/p>\n\n\n

Family Life – PKCF Grant $20,000<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Grant for: Programs that support children and young people <\/strong>
With funding from Peninsula Kingswood Community Foundation, Family Life will be able run programs targeted to support local children and young people via schools or other community groups. The programs will be tailored to meet need and demand but have previously included one of a suite of programs Family Life offer including their
community development program \u2013 Young Leaders for Change, and targeted interventions meeting local needs and addressing vulnerabilities, school engagement, mental health support and capacity building.<\/p>\n\n\n

\"\"Mahogany Rise Primary School – <\/strong>PKCF Grant: $16,000<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Grant Project: Purchase of musical instruments for the new Multi Purpose Hall
<\/strong>The school is currently waiting for their Multi-Purpose Hall to be renovated which will be completed by the end of the year. Once it is completed, we are planning on having a music and performing arts program starting in 2026. We have a music teacher locked in and this grant will assist them to purchase musical instruments for this new adventure.<\/p>\n\n\n

Caroline Chisholm Education Foundation – PKCF Grant: $10,000<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Grant for: Scholarships, tools of trade and course materials<\/strong>
The Caroline Chisholm Education Foundation is an independent charitable trust initiated and supported by Chisholm Institute, the largest vocational education provider in Melbourne\u2019s South East. Of the funds raised, 100% are allocated to education scholarships for students suffering financial hardship, with 70% of those funds supporting women in the local Frankston area.
PKCF is proud that this grant provides scholarships for young people, especially young disadvantaged women, so that they are able to pursue vocational education at the Chisholm Institute and increase their range of employable skills.<\/p>\n\n\n

Speak And Share – PKCF Grant: $10,000<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Grant for: Project \u201cPeople Before Students\u201d
<\/strong>The project seeking funding is our flagship school program, People Before Students – a hands-on, activity-based mental health initiative designed for upper primary and secondary students. This preventative program empowers young people to speak openly about their mental health, understand emotional regulation, and build the confidence to have tougher conversations with peers, family, and trusted adults. Delivered through engaging workshops led by relatable facilitators, the program focuses on storytelling, connection, and practical strategies to support wellbeing. By normalising vulnerability and promoting early intervention, People Before Students aims to reduce stigma and equip students with the tools they need to navigate life\u2019s challenges. Funding for this project will go directly towards facilitating free programs for schools in and around the Frankston area.<\/p>\n\n\n

Karingal Primary School – PKCF Grant: $5,000<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Grant for: Extending the community garden in the Montessori grounds
<\/strong>The school requested assistance so that they could extend their community garden and thereby help enrich the students\u2019 appreciation and skills in learning how to grow food primarily for the kitchen.<\/p>\n\n\n
