INTERCLUB – Monday 15 July
Today we ventured to Southern and were greeted with a heavy shower as we arrived, but were very pleased to find that was all and weather wise it was a pleasant day. We did have a rather wet course and bunkers were to be avoided as they were mini lakes. No doubt all courses are suffering from the amount of rain received.
Libby Stuckey and her caddy Kate had a wonderful day with a 5-3 win, and an early finish.
Louise Timms and caddy Gillian, were very unlucky not to win and we were grateful for her half.
Helen Lacy and caddy Gayle started very well and just missed out finishing 1 down after giving 6 shots.
Janice Newham and caddy Lish teamed very well. They were down in the beginning but fought back and finished 2 down.
Tricia and caddy Joan also teamed very well and were down on the first 9, and fought back to square but also finished 3 down.
Thank you to our wonderful caddies, Joan, Gayle, Gillian, Lish and Kate who gave their time, we do appreciate your help and encouragement.
Next week we are at Kingston Heath at 8:30 am.
I wish next week’s team lots of luck, I think it must be our turn for the putts to drop!!!

KHRYSP – Monday 15 July
The fifth and final round of KHRYSP was held at Victoria Golf Club and played against Commonwealth.
This week’s team included Sally Twopeny, Eils Tickell, Kim Neuhold, Anne Lewis, and Marilyn Takle.
The weather was far more obliging with some momentary periods of sunshine and no wind. The recent rain did mean the course was quite wet in places. This was the most closely contested of all our matches, with the scores up and down throughout the morning.
Commonwealth proved too strong on the day and won four games to one. Sally and Kim took their players to the final hole and squared both their games. Eils, Marilyn and Anne lost on the last holes.
At lunch there was a presentation of the KHRYSP cup and this year it was taken out by Yarra. Commonwealth was runner up followed by Victoria, Kew, Peninsula Kingswood and Heritage.
Thank you to all the players who participated in the KHRYSP competition, despite the early mornings and hit off times the whole team has been enthusiastic, dependable and given their all.
A final getting together of the team will be held at Peninsula Kingswood this coming Monday for a fun round of golf followed by lunch.
